Class 300 cast steel gate valves provide isolation service for higher-pressure applications than Class 150 designs — common installations include power plant feedwater systems, refinery process lines, oil and gas production facilities, chemical processing at elevated pressures, and steam distribution headers. The Class 300 pressure rating supports working pressure of approximately 740 psi at 100°F per ANSI B16.34, derating with rising temperature according to standard temperature-pressure curves.

WCB carbon steel body construction combined with 13Cr stainless steel trim provides reliable service in moderate-temperature applications with non-corrosive or mildly corrosive process media. Bolted-bonnet construction allows the stem, disc, and packing to be serviced in-line without cutting the valve out of the pipeline. As with all gate valves, this valve is intended for on/off isolation service rather than throttling — partial-open operation exposes the disc face to erosive flow and shortens service life. Flanged ends conform to ANSI B16.5, face-to-face dimensions follow ANSI B16.10, and the design and test standards (API 600 / API 598) ensure consistent quality and interchangeability with standard plant piping.
