LS206T Series
6000 PSI Seal Welded Ball Valve, Stainless Steel
These 6000 PSI seal welded stainless steel ball valves come standard with end connectors seal welded to the body and self locking lever handles. Their strengthened construction secures 6000 psi working pressure rating and feature an enlarged bottom-loaded blow-out proof stem.
Features
- Threaded ends
- 6000 WOG
- 1/4″ to 1-1/2″: Full Port, 2″: Standard Port
- Gasket is placed ahead of the body cap threads, providing a tight seal and protection of threads from flow media.
- Vented ball equalizes pressure between the body cavity and the flow stream to prevent seat damage due to thermal cycling.
- Basic design complies with ANSI B16.34 & EN 12516-1. NPT threaded ends complies with ANSI B 1.20.1.
Rc, Rp & G Threaded ends complies with BS 21/2779, JIS B-0203/0202, DIN 259/2999, ISO 228-1, AS1722.1/1722.2 are upon request. - Threaded ends that comply with BS 21/2779, JIS B-0203/0202, DIN 259/2999, ISO 228-1, AS1722.1/1722.2 are available upon request.
- Tested according to API 598.
- 1 Year Warranty
When to choose the LS-206TMLW 6000 PSI Seal-Welded Ball Valve
This valve is the right choice when:
- Your working pressure exceeds 3000 PSI – this is the rating bracket between standard high-pressure valves and forged service valves.
- You need leak-free service at high pressure. Seal welding eliminates the threaded joints that become weak points at 6000 PSI.
- You’re in hydraulic, gas injection, water-blasting, or specialty test applications where 6000 PSI is the working pressure or expected spike pressure.
- You want stainless steel construction (CF8M / 316) for corrosion resistance plus high pressure.
- You don’t need fully forged credentials – this is the cost-effective option below the forged ball valve tier.
Comparison: LS-203T (3000 PSI) vs LS-206TMLW (6000 PSI) vs Forged Ball Valves
| Property | LS-203T (3000 PSI) | LS-206TMLW (6000 PSI) | Forged 6000+ PSI |
|---|---|---|---|
| Working pressure | 3000 PSI | 6000 PSI | 6000-10000+ PSI |
| Construction | Seal welded | Seal welded, heavier body | Fully forged |
| Material | Stainless (CF8M / 316) | Stainless (CF8M / 316) | Forged stainless or alloy |
| Certifications | Standard industrial | Standard industrial | ASME B16.34, NACE etc. |
| Cost relative to forged | Lowest | Middle | Highest |
| Typical applications | High-pressure hydraulic, instrumentation | Hydraulic systems, gas injection, water blasting | Sour gas, cryogenic, certified service |
For 6000 PSI general industrial service, the LS-206TMLW gives you the pressure rating without the cost of full forged construction. Contact Lance Valves if you need help choosing between the seal-welded and forged options.
Frequently Asked Questions – LS-206TMLW 6000 PSI
Q: What is the LS-206TMLW and how does it differ from the LS-203T?
A: The LS-206TMLW is a 6000 PSI seal-welded ball valve – the higher-pressure sibling of our LS-203T (3000 PSI). Same general design philosophy (stainless steel, seal-welded construction for leak-free service), but built for double the working pressure with thicker walls, larger bolting, and a heavier-duty stem assembly.
Q: What applications need 6000 PSI?
A: Hydraulic systems on heavy industrial equipment, gas injection systems, high-pressure water blasting, deep oil and gas service, and specialty test stands are the most common 6000 PSI applications. If your standard process pressure exceeds 3000 PSI continuous, or you have pressure spikes that reach 4000+ PSI, the LS-206TMLW is the right rating bracket.
Q: Why seal-welded instead of threaded for high pressure?
A: At 6000 PSI, threaded connections are a real leak risk – the threads are under significant stress and microscopic gaps that wouldn’t matter at 200 PSI become real leak paths at this pressure. Seal welding eliminates that failure mode. For 6000 PSI service, seal welding (or full forging) is essentially required for safety and longevity.
Q: What are the material specs?
A: Stainless steel construction (CF8M / 316). Standard configurations use PTFE seats and PTFE stem packing. For elevated temperature or specialty media, peek seats, graphite packing, and other material options are available – contact us with your application details.
Q: How does it compare to forged 6000 PSI valves?
A: Forged 6000 PSI ball valves are usually the choice when you need certified ASME B16.34, NACE compliance, or specialty service (sour gas, cryogenic, etc.). The LS-206TMLW is an investment cast / barstock design that hits the same pressure rating at a more accessible price point for general high-pressure industrial use. If you need full forged credentials, ask about our forged options.
