Knife gate valves are purpose-built for handling slurries, fibrous media, and fluids carrying suspended solids — applications where traditional ball or gate valves would clog, jam, or seize. The sliding-blade design cuts through entrained solids on closing and lifts cleanly out of the flow path on opening, making knife gate valves the preferred choice across pulp and paper mills, mining and minerals processing, wastewater treatment plants, power generation flue-gas systems, and chemical processing facilities handling settling or precipitating media.

Lance Valves carries both uni-directional and bi-directional knife gate valve designs in lug, wafer, and full-flanged body styles, along with manual handwheel, bevel-gear, pneumatic, and electric actuator options. Standard body materials include cast iron, carbon steel, and 304/316 stainless steel, with EPDM, Buna-N, Viton, and PTFE seat options to match the chemistry and temperature of the service media. Multiple pressure classes are available, sized from DN 2 (50 mm) through DN 36 (900 mm) as standard, with larger diameters available on request for power plant and bulk-handling applications.
