Spring-return ball valves like the LSPR-BV are designed for applications where the valve must automatically return to a defined safe position when the operator releases the handle — most commonly normally-closed configurations for sample collection (the valve only stays open while the operator is actively holding the handle), emergency blowdown service, deadman-style shutoff on hose stations, and safety isolation where unintended open-position drift would create a hazard. The spring mechanism stores energy when the handle is moved to the active position and releases it to return the valve to the default position the moment the handle is released.

316 stainless steel body and ball construction with PTFE-glass (GF) seats provides robust corrosion resistance and extended cycle life appropriate for the high-cycle nature of spring-return applications. The 2000 WOG pressure rating supports demanding service, with full-port flow in sizes 1/4" through 1/2" and reduced port in sizes 3/4" through 2". Investment-cast body construction, floating-ball design, and NPT threaded ends per ANSI B1.20.1 round out the standard configuration. Common installations include chemical sampling stations, hot-water dispensing on industrial equipment, and process-isolation stations where positive operator control is required.
