Stainless steel swing check valves provide automatic non-return service for pipelines carrying corrosive or hygienic process media where carbon steel construction would not be appropriate. Typical applications include chemical processing pump-discharge service, pharmaceutical and biotech process lines (where contamination of upstream sections must be prevented), food and beverage transfer pumps, marine and offshore systems, and aggressive water-treatment installations.
The swing-disc design relies on forward flow pressure to lift the disc clear of the flow path on opening, then on gravity (and any reverse-flow pressure when present) to seat the disc and stop backflow. This passive, self-actuating design eliminates the need for external actuators or controls. Stainless steel construction with WCB or 316SS body and 13Cr or 316SS trim provides corrosion resistance suited to the specific service chemistry. Class 150 pressure rating supports working pressure up to approximately 275 psi at 100°F per ANSI B16.34. ANSI B16.5 flanged ends and ANSI B16.10 face-to-face dimensions ensure direct compatibility with standard plant piping. API 600 design and API 598 testing standards ensure consistent quality.
