Grooved-end butterfly valves like the LGBV-3000 are widely specified in fire protection sprinkler systems, HVAC chilled-water and condenser-water loops, large-diameter water distribution mains, and industrial cooling water circuits. The grooved-end connection — using a rigid or flexible mechanical coupling — allows the valve to be installed and removed without flange bolting or welding, dramatically reducing labor cost on new construction and retrofit projects and supporting easy disassembly for system maintenance.

The 300 WOG pressure rating supports the typical operating pressures of HVAC and fire-protection systems, and conformance to MSS-SP67, API 609, and AWWA C-606 ensures dimensional and operational compatibility with standard mechanical-coupling systems. The EPDM-encapsulated disc handles continuous service up to 250°F, suitable for hot-water and standard HVAC applications, while a Buna-N seat option (rated to 190°F) provides an alternative for ambient water and oil service. Manual lever handle is standard, with gear operator, electric actuator, and pneumatic actuator options available for larger sizes and automated control applications.
